How To Clean The Interior Of A Car
Due to neglect, dust and grime can collect over the years and become permanent residents in your car. Cleaning regularly is important if you want to drive without worrying about what you are inside your car's inhaling limits. Pieces of food, oily wrappers, cigarette ash, dust and other foreign elements, will find a place to settle and multiply if not taken care of sooner. Let's take a look at what is involved in cleaning a car.
Empty the vehicle
Carpet and storage items that pile up innards, auto accessories and candy wrappers strewn on the floor, remove anything that may be taken from the car, including last week's stale cheese burger hidden under the back seat. You may notice sunken stains in more than one location, so removing the entire floor, if possible, is necessary. If there is loose carpet, tear it off and send it away for dry cleaning according to the instructions, if applicable, or check with the laundromat on the proper washing method after examining its mark.
Once everything is off, make sure all that fabric-based material is extracted, is sent back for a deep cleaning. If you happen to have plastic carpeting, use a regular hand-held vacuum or get rid of stubborn debris. Give it a good beating (using a carpet beater) before placing it in the car.
Vacuuming the Interior
Using a vacuum cleaner fitted with an extendable hose, clean the interior of the car, focusing on nooks and crannies, including compartments. Also vacuum around breaks, hand gear, and small crevices that line the car. Vacuum, even the dashboard, around the steering wheel, and virtually any surface or enclosure that can reach a pipe.
Then use a soft cloth dampened with cleaning fluid to clean surfaces like dashboards, windows, and car interior doors. You can use newspaper to wipe down the windows, focusing on the liner around it for sneaky germs and residual dirt. Use a second rag to wipe down the surfaces once more, ensuring that nothing has been left behind.
Clean car seats
If you can lift the car seat, be sure to vacuum the interior thoroughly; you will be surprised at how much dirt is in this space. Replace the car seats and use a carpet beater to release dust and dirt from the canvas surface; if it is leather, use a cleaning product that is specially designed for such material. Once you dust off the car seats, resume vacuuming the interior of the car to get rid of the sedentary dirt.
Place only essential items Back
If you had important files sitting in the backseat, place them neatly in a cardboard box and store it in the trunk of the car. Anything unnecessary that crowds out your car's interior, should be placed in the trunk or at home. Don't make it a habit to throw things in the backseat or next to you, as it can add up over time and prove to be quite a chore when you need to clean your car. Also, fight the urge to litter inside, no matter how convenient it is to throw the wrappers over your shoulder. Think about the bacteria that happily thrives in your car and how it feels to sit within such an unhealthy space unknowingly.
